Week 3 | Have a 'Norse' day

mostly photos and a few words about what we are doing, seeing, eating, and everything else in between...
7/21/2024 - 7/27/2024

It wouldn't be our last week in Norway without mentioning the absolute obsession Tyler had with the automated lawn mowers.
In our ill prepared attempt of the Besseggen Ridge hike, the clear sky we started the day with quickly fell to a very cold wind. Once we made it to the photo spot to capture both the spring & glacier water, Makenna quickly pulled the plug on the hike not willing to hike another 4 hours.
Norwegian homes, covered with grass roofs, will always feel like a troll fairytale.
Our final RIB boat tour in Norway took us to 'seven sisters' waterfall in Geirangerfjord.
Cow crossings became very common and the cows had no problem making sure we knew they had the right of way.
Loen was filled with so many lakes, and the mirrored reflection from the water made for a perfect drive and hike around the area.
Norway was so uniquely different than the United States. Trust in humanity was so refreshing to see. Some trails had a small parking fee but had no parking lot attendant or machines, just some envelopes next to a mailbox or a sign on the gate with the bank instructions.
Driving back to Bergen gave us one last opportunity for a party tunnel.
And a quick stop in Flam for some brown cheese overlooking the water was the best way to say goodbye to our first big destination of the sabbatical!
Norway was great, but after bouncing through hotels, Tyler was really excited to stretch out the yoga mat the second we landed in Copenhagen.
It's touristy, we know, and we didn't intend to walk by the Nyhavn canal everyday, yet we did. And to be honest, the photos were beautiful every time.
POPL Burger was one of the many NOMA adjacent restaurants we explored while in Copenhagen. Tyler will still claim it's his favorite cheeseburger to date.
